American Legion Riders from across the country arrived at Legion Post 177 in Fairfax, Va., for a weekend of events leading up to Rolling Thunder. They kicked off the weekend with a ride to The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and a candlelight vigil for Gold Star Mothers.

During a 16-day stretch of the Vietnam War, three young men from Midvale, Utah, who were friends were all killed. Few relatives remain but some are still in the greater Salt Lake City area.
