Welcome to The American Legion. This 12-minute video hosted by Maine American Legion member Matt Jabaut provides a clear, concise understanding of the nation’s largest veterans organization and all it does to strengthen America. The video is great to show new members during orientation at a local post, or potential members interested in learning more. Housed on the Legion’s vimeo platform, it is downloadable and can easily be shared. It can also be viewed on the Legion’s YouTube channel.
New Member Welcome Toolkit. This toolkit on how to make good first impressions with new members and interested veterans features dos and don’ts, best practices that work for posts and resources to welcome, engage and create lasting impressions. Available for downloading at legion.org/publications under Membership.
USA 250 Challenge. The American Legion launched its USA 250 Challenge to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and support the Veterans & Children Foundation. Between now and July 4, 2026, the challenge encourages Legion Family and community members to engage in 250 miles or hours in one, two or all three of the categories – fitness, mental wellness and community service.
