Sons of The American Legion hit the 400k membership mark, Veterans & Children Foundation gets a boost and hundreds get free American Legion assistance.
In typical late-summer fashion, August was an apex month for measurable impact in the American Legion Family.
For the first time ever, membership in the Sons of The American Legion exceeded 400,000 on Aug. 10. The Legacy Run got off to a hot start with a major contribution from the Department of Maryland enroute to $986,035 raised for the Veterans & Children Foundation, and hundreds of veterans received life-changing, free assistance from American Legion service officers and appeals representatives.
As the American Legion Family’s USA 250 Challenge picked up steam, also in support of the VCF, the national Legislative Division counted more than 255 pieces of legislation reviewed so far this year in the 119th Congress.
