American Legion service officer Jeremy Wolfsteller will take part in live-streamed benefits assistance workshop on Feb. 4.
After a successful online gaming tournament collaboration in December between The American Legion and Regiment Gaming, the two entities are teaming up again – this time to spread awareness about veterans benefits.
At 8 p.m. EST on Feb. 4, Regiment Gaming will host a live-streamed Department of Veterans Affairs assistance workshop for military veterans and servicemembers. The purpose of the workshop is to provide information on VA benefits and how to apply for them.
A guest on the workshop will be longtime American Legion Department of Minnesota service officer Jeremy Wolfsteller. A service-disabled U.S. Army combat veteran, Wolfsteller was injured in Iraq when a bullet entered his body at the hip and shattered his tailbone before puncturing his lung. He spent 10 months recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and after more recovery and being medically discharged, he began working for the Department of Minnesota more than 10 years ago.
“I’ll be sharing my experience in the military and working for the Legion as a (department service officer),” Wolfsteller said. “I’ll assist with DSO-type questions and how (The American Legion) assists our nation’s veterans through our advocacy and service officers.”
The workshop will be streamed on Regiment’s Twitch channel. A recording of the workshop also will be available for those who cannot attend.
