National Veterans Employment & Education awards announced

National Veterans Employment & Education awards announced

Although there is no national convention this year, the winners have been named.

Every year, the American Legion Veterans Employment & Education Commission presents its annual awards at the national convention to employers and individuals who help veterans and other underserved workers with employment. Although there is no national convention this year, the winners have been announced. They are:

Employer of Veterans Award (Small): High Order Solutions, LLC, Frisco, Texas

Employer of Veterans Award (Medium): SJ Innovations dba Computer System Designers (CSD), Oklahoma City, Okla.

Employer of Veterans Award (Large): Lockheed Martin, Bethesda, Md.

Employer of Older Workers Award: Harris Health System, Houston

Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) of the Year: Kenneth D. Dinkins, Decatur, Ga.

Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist of the Year: Katasha Gray, Fort Worth, Texas

Employment Local Office Award: Auburn WorkOne Northeast, Auburn, Ind.

Michael Guty Homeless Veterans Outreach Award: Department of New Jersey – Housing Our Heroes, Trenton, N.J.

Enhance the Lives of the Disabled Award: Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI), Atlanta
