The Gulf War and The War on Terrorism and Lt. Timothy Steele

The memorial was erected by Post 223 of the American Legion in Duxbury Massachusetts under Commander Sara Lansing. After raising $20,000, they built a memorial and viewing area at 5 West Street, Duxbury Massachusetts 02332. As part of this project the post also relocated other memorials to a new viewing area in front of the post. Duxbury has lost one of it's young men in Afghanistan, Lt. Timothy Steele. Steele gave his life while serving in Kandahar Afghanistan on August 23, 2011. This new memorial was dedicated on Veteran's Day November 11, 2012.
