West Newton Cannons

West Newton Cannons

Flagpole surrounded by three cannons cast in 1849 but never used in battle. The cannons are on a hilltop overlooking the West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, Pennsylvania. The cemetery, overlooking the Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheny Passage Trail, is more akin to a scenic park than a traditional burial ground.
