No Conflict Forgotten

No Conflict Forgotten

These twin pillars have all conflicts engraved on their front faces to cover all conflicts since the end of the Vietnam War. Engraved are the conflicts and dates only. No name are engraved on the pillars for this monument sits on the side of the Street assigned for conflicts. Memorial Boulevard has a street that cuts thru the park. One side is for war monuments for wars such as War for Independence, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. This monument sits in the center of the "V" of the Veterans Walkway. Each brick of the walkway contains a name of a veteran engraved on it. A pair of flag poles stand behind it and between the monument and the walkway. The walkway sits on the same ground where the Vietnam traveling wall stood in 1998 and returned in 2016. This is the back drop for the No Conflict Forgotten Memorial. Either side are other monuments, across the street from the Korean and Vietnam monuments. A gazebo stands in front of the twin pillars to allow older veterans a shaded place to sit from the summer sun and snow of the winter. Memorial Day ceremony is held in front of the monument and the Memorial Day parade ends there after marching through town.
