FANT - KIA - War Dogs

FANT - KIA - War Dogs

While the dog honored and pictured is Fant, one of two military working dogs, assigned to John Pinezaddleby, during his August 1970 - July 1971 tour with the 47th Infantry Scout Dog Platoon in Phu Bai, Vietnam. The memorial also honors the history of the more than 4,000 military working dogs and their handlers from WWI through the present. This monument fittingly stands guard near the Caddo County Veterans Memorial at the east side of the courthouse in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
