Korea War Memorial, Norman, Oklahoma

Korea War Veterans at the University of Oklahoma Campus, Norman, Oklahoma installed the granite marker in the shape of the country of Korea in 1954. The memorial is located in the middle of grassy Parrington Oval on the north end of the University of Oklahoma campus along with a flag plaza. Parrington Oval is a main north entrance to the University of Oklahoma, as well as, next door to the Fred Jones Museum of Art. The memorial and American flag together are a nice way to honor those who served in the Korean War. Bottom inscription: Korean War Memorial Dedicated to the men and women of Oklahoma who so willingly gave their lives that future generations might enjoy the privilege of freedom.
