Lt. Cmdr. Ronald Lee Wise Memorial Field

A baseball field dedicated to local hero Lt. Cmdr. Ronald Lee “Rhino“ Wise of the U.S. Navy. It features a reflective black polished stone with a picture and biography of Wise. On July 31, 1998, operating in the Mediterranean Sea from USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) flying a F-14 Tomcat fighter plane, Lt. Cmdr. Wise’s aircraft collided in midair with another Tomcat. He did not survive the ejection. He is interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
