Amateur licensing instruction at Georgia Legion post

A right-hand salute of respect and admiration goes to Elden Morris, N1MN, a TALARC member of American Legion Post 294 located in Powder Springs, Ga.
Elden, who is an amateur radio licensing instructor and volunteer examiner, conducted a Technician Licensing class in February and April of this year. "There were almost 60 people that graduated with technician licenses," Elden reported in a recent email to National Headquarters. Out of the total number, three new Legionnaires completed the course. As a result, he said, "I have many people wanting a general class."
Those of you within the Department of Georgia, or near the Powder Springs post, make note that Elden has scheduled that general class instruction on three consecutive Saturdays: July 16, 23 and 30 at the post home, located at 3282 Florence Rd,, Powder Springs, GA 30127. Details for the class are listed on the ARRL website on the "Licensing and Education" page, as well as the W5YI site.
