Veterans Monument Natchez, MS Simple but striking monument in Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Natchez, (Adams County) Mississippi. On a raised base within this old park stands five columns of light gray marble with black streaks supporting five lintels. On each lintel is carved the name of one branch of the Armed Forces of the United States. with its setting within the park coupled with its simple lines, yet powerful message, it makes for a fitting tribute to our veterans. Non-Specific Memorial Multi-war. Date of erection unknown. In Honor of: Army Navy Marines Air Force Coast Guard Citizens of Natchez, Mississippi sponsored the monument. Description of Memorial: In the front on this park is a Civil War monument, and further in is a large fountain, then looking around you see something different, something not from an earlier time, yet something that speaks to all times. This is one of those monuments that draws you to it and speaks to you.
