American Legion Family USA250
The American Legion USA250 Challenge
The American Legion is honoring the nation’s 250th birthday with a commitment to embracing physical activity, supporting mental health and serving its communities. The USA 250 Challenge encourages American Legion Family members, other veterans and all Americans to participate, and even raise additional money to support our disabled veterans and families in need through The American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation.
The year-long initiative offers three categories — fitness, mental wellness and community service — in order to engage more American Legion Family members and others to participate.
Participants may engage in one, two or all three activities as an an individual or as part of a team like an American Legion post, American Legion Auxiliary unit, Sons of The American Legion squadron and/or an American Legion Riders chapter.
The semiquincentennial gives the entire American Legion Family a chance to step up, show our pride, and take action. Let’s use this moment to celebrate and educate others about the values that shape our organizations: freedom, justice, democracy, and service.
The very same values that shape our nation.
With more than 11,500 American Legion posts, along with Sons of The American Legion squadrons and American Legion Auxiliary units, The American Legion Family is rooted in communities across the country and around the world. Now is the time to honor our nation’s founders by getting involved.

Youth Programs: Spread the Word
Legion Family programs teach young people about the Constitution, democracy, justice, citizenship, service, and the value of freedom. Veterans bring these lessons to life because they understand the sacrifices behind them.
Help celebrate America's 250th birthday by telling your community about American Legion and Auxiliary Youth Programs, all rooted in our nation’s founding values.
