Apply to attend National American Legion College

The 2024 National American Legion College (NALC) is scheduled for Nov. 17-22 in Indianapolis at American Legion National Headquarters. The 2024 NALC student application is online at legion.org/college/application. All applications must be endorsed by your respective department. 

Please contact your department for application deadlines as each department has their own. NALC applications sent directly to National Headquarters by applicants will be sent back to the department for proper endorsement. Departments will email their endorsed applicant(s) to ia@legion.org by July 31. 

Prerequisites to attend NALC include:

- Must be a member in good standing.

- Be a member for a minimum of three continuous years.

- Must have completed the Legion’s Basic Training course. (Submit your Basic Training certificate with your NALC application. American Legion Education Institute certificates are not accepted.)

The National American Legion College has 55 seats, one for each department. Departments can occupy up to two seats in the class. Departments submitting applications with remaining unfilled seats can backfill with another member from a department that submitted more than one application. The ideal candidate for the National American Legion College is either a district or county officer, or a member just becoming a district or county officer.
