This week’s Tango Alpha Lima episode highlights some of the many contributions women veterans have made from the Revolutionary War to the modern day.
Ashley Gorbulja-Maldonado assumes the controls of this week’s episode of The American Legion Tango Alpha Lima podcast.
“We are celebrating Women’s History Month, specifically the military history of women who have been breaking glass ceilings,” says Gorbulja-Maldonado, an Army National Guard veteran. “Women have been proudly serving in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast and now Space Force. Over 3 million women have served in a volunteer capacity.”
She is joined by co-hosts Mark Seavey and Jeff Daly in this week’s episode, available for download here. The co-hosts take a tour through women’s military history, including:
• The first woman Medal of Honor recipient.
• The first woman to become a four-star general.
• An 18-year-old who was at the helm of an aircraft carrier.
• Where to find the nation’s first exhibit featuring women veterans who are minorities.
