When World War II ended, I heard it

At 9 p.m. at night, I was watching a movie while on island R&R for a couple of days. We were allowed three beers, per the PM system - believe me, the beers were free.
Shanghai, China, was our home port for a while. I served with the best guys in the world. I am 94, a Legionnaire for 53 years and past commander of Post 974 in 1980..
I was in the Navy, at Leyte, Manila, Japan, Yellow Sea, the Philippines and the Pacific. I was on two ships: Blue Ridge for the longest, and Wasatch.
