Post 485 did an outstanding job of bringing Christmas joy to their community on December 16, 2023. Pete Ortiz, the post commander, and his elves were busy working to provide a gift to all children who attended. The Servants of the Cross and other community groups provided gifts and support to the holiday party.

"One of the things I heard on an American Legion training video was the idea that people in your community should know about you," said Matt Scherer, District 20 marketing and media relations officer. "To me, Post 485 represents that idea especially when I saw other community organizations join in for this gift-giving outreach.
